Counties with negative need for single worker beds have higher than average shares of migrant workers and large supplies of migrant camp beds, which may serve workers during multiple harvesting periods. Need for beds for workers accompanied by other household members is calculated by subtracting the estimated number of households from the supply of farmworker housing subsidized by USDA Rural Development and Florida Housing. The Persons with Special Needs percentage of distribution may exceed 100 percent when a local government spends its entire distribution plus any portion of its program income for Special Needs Households. City/county amounts are combined due to interlocal agreements for Broward County/Coconut Creek, Margate, and Weston; Charlotte County/Punta Gorda; Collier County/Naples; Duval County/Jacksonville; Escambia County/Pensacola; Flagler County/Palm Coast; Okaloosa County/Fort Walton Beach; and Sarasota County/Sarasota (city).
